CLIENT PROJECT / THE CURIO
LaSalle Street Runway:
Concept renderings for
Chicago Fashion Vanguard
A fashion show staged down the middle of LaSalle Street,
rendered before a single riser went up, so sponsors
and the city could see it before committing to it.
-
The brief was a runway show on LaSalle Street, rendered convincingly enough to sell the idea to sponsors and the city. The list was specific: a raised runway flanked by risers, a press riser for photographers, CFV banners, a multi-model finale, a real range of models in high-end ready-to-wear, and every bit of scaffolding and street clutter cleared away.
-
I started by testing which image model could hold up to the brief, then built rough blocking drafts in several layouts (backdrop or none, wood or black runway, with and without front photographers) so we could agree on direction before I invested in detail. From there, I refined against the client’s notes on lighting, audience density, and riser placement, and chose colorways that pull the eye to the models against a busy street.
-
The final set included two angles: a straight-on view down the runway, and a bird’s-eye view I added on my own to show the true scale of the crowd. I paired them with poster layouts and mockups showing the renderings in use, from ads to pitch decks. My runway rendering became one of the full-page hero’s in the proposal used to pitch the event to the city.
